4th District's Republican Honored By Planned Parenthood

Rep. Chris Shays' schedule this evening included this entry you might not see on most Republican congressmen's calendars: "A Planned Parenthood Reception to receive an award for his defense of Planned Parenthood during debate on the Labor/HHS Appropriations Act."

 

When a Republican colleague called Planned Parenthood -- a reproductive health care organization noted for abortion-rights advocacy -- a "death dealing organization," and some tried to strip it of certain funding, Shays opposed them.

 

So, he was invited to receive this award tonight at DC's Sonoma Restaurant. [If he gets dinner with that, I think I'd go for their honey orange glazed quail.]
