DEBATE SCHEDULE
Shays campaign confirms 7 debates; challenger declines several opportunities
Norwalk, CT – October 8, 2008 – Congressman Christopher Shays (CT-4) announced today he will participate in seven (7) debates. Shays, who has historically participated in a large number of debates during election years, expressed regret about this year’s condensed schedule. In September, Shays agreed to 10 debates, the most of any congressional race in the state, however, his challenger chose to confirm only seven of them.
“Christopher looks forward to the debates and discussing the issues affecting our district, state and nation,” said Michael Sohn, Shays’ campaign manager. “It’s unfortunate the residents of the Fourth Congressional District will not be afforded the opportunity to see ten debates.”
The following debates are confirmed. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Television and print reporters must contact the organizations directly to RSVP.
